Rebecca Summers, OT, CLT-LANA, CSR
Rebecca studied Occupational Therapy at Colorado State University & began her career working for HealthSouth as an inpatient therapist before moving to Texas.
Once in Dallas, she trained to become a court reporter (CSR) while pursuing acting/modeling interests. During this time, she worked at Baylor Institute for Rehab & later gained experience in home health. While working in home health, she encountered a patient who had a bilateral mastectomy with lymphedema in both arms. Not having experience with this type of swelling at that time, Rebecca wasn’t able to help this patient. Her reason for becoming a therapist was to help people, so she determined to get the specialized training necessary to treat lymphedema. A few years later, in 2009, she got her first lymphedema certification from Klose Training.
In 2011, she obtained her second lymphedema certification while studying at the Dr. Vodder School, spending a portion of that training at the Vodder Akademie in Walchsee, Austria under Hildegard Whittlinger (who worked with Dr. Emil Vodder). She built her lymphedema skills in acute care, inpatient & outpatient before embarking on providing these services in the home. She opened Lymphedema Therapy Source, PLLC in 2011 and began working in the business full-time in 2013. Since then, her concentration has been treating lymphedema, fitting compression garments and educating.
Rebecca attained recognition through the Lymphology Association of North American, becoming LANA-certified in 2013. She is a member of the National Lymphedema Network & Lymphology Association of North America. Her driving passion is to become the best at what she does, enhancing the lives of her patients and increasing lymphedema awareness.
