Good Faith Estimate
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, individuals who are not insured by federal programs (such as Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare or other programs) & are uninsured or choose to pay cash may request a good faith estimate (GFE) of anticipated cost of care for items & services. This appears to apply to hospitals, group practices, other facilities (not therapists in private practice). However, in attempt to help patients anticipate expenses, if you are uninsured, paying cash or do not have a supplemental insurance plan, you may contact the office to request an estimate. Note that a GFE is just that (an estimate) & subject to change.
